Work and Holiday Visa (Subclass 462)
The Work and Holiday visa (subclass 462) allows young adults aged 18 to 30 (inclusive) from eligible countries to spend up to 12 months in Australia for a holiday while working to fund their travels. This visa is part of Australia’s Working Holiday Maker (WHM) program, which includes both the subclass 417 and subclass 462 visas.

Country-Specific Information
- As of October 1, 2024, passport holders from China, India, and Vietnam must participate in a visa pre-application process, known as a ballot, to be randomly selected to apply for a first Work and Holiday (subclass 462) visa. Visa applications for these countries are now managed through the ballot process instead of the application cap.
